Seven Centers and Residential Care Facilities operated through the DSWD Field Office IX received the 1, 500 shoes from SM Foundation during the Ceremonial Turn-Over held last February 24 at Mampang, Zamboanga City.

The DSWD Field Office IX Regional Director Atty. Sittie Raifah Pamaloy-Hassan has expressed her grateful appreciation to the SM Foundation for choosing the DSWD beneficiaries as recipients of their significant projects and for reaching out to the communities especially to the vulnerable sectors through donation of goods and items.

Director Hassan also recognized the strong partnership with SM as one of its active donors even during the height of the Pandemic.

The ceremonial ceremony was attended by different clients and staff of Home for the Elderly, Home for Women, Reception and Study Center for Children, Processing Center for Displaced Persons and Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center-III including all centers located at Zamboanga Del Norte namely: Balay Dangpanan sa Kabataan (BDSK) and Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth, respectively.

The turn-over was led by DSWD Regional Director, Atty. Sittie Raifah M. Pamaloy-Hassan, SM City Mindpro Assistant Mall Manager Aileen Ann Enriquez, Services Division Chief, Ma.Socorro Macaso, Regional Center Coordinator, Rowenna Mendoza and all the Center Heads of the different centers and residential care facilities.

The short program was entertained by some Persons with Disabilities of AVRC-III through their inspirational song rendition.

As can be recalled, the DSWD Field Office IX received more than 3,107 donated shoes with 299 Sanitizers last January as part of their Operation Tulong Express, a project of SM Store, SM Cares and SM Foundation last February 2.

The remaining shoes are also intended for Pantawid Pamilya and Indigent beneficiaries in the communities of Zamboanga City. ###
