The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has conducted a stakeholder’s forum with the Department of Education to further support and strengthen the good practices in the implementation of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program particularly on the education component.

78 DepEd employees from across the region were gathered last February 27-28, 2019 in Zamboanga City to discuss what has transpired in the previous year in their implementation of the program.

The program’s accomplishments and updates were also presented to the education partners. It also became an avenue for planning the next steps, strategies, and initiatives of the program to improve the performance of the beneficiaries in terms of compliance to the program conditionalities.

DSWD-9 Regional Program Coordinator of the Pantawid Pamilya, Flordeliza A. Atuy, oriented the participants on the thrusts and priorities of the program for the year 2019.

She also emphasized the importance of the roles that the education partners play in the achievement of the Pantawid Pamilya goals.

“The Pantawid Pamilya focals in schools play a very vital role not just in the monitoring of the beneficiaries’ compliance but moreover, they help the program by creating a mindset that makes education a priority and puts value in the education of children,” Atuy said.

The DSWD continues to involve its partner-stakeholders in all its endeavors for a holistic development in the lives of the beneficiaries.
