The Department of Social Welfare and Development Filed Office IX with the Social Security System signed a Memorandum of Agreement on the institutionalization of the AlkanSSSya Program during the short launch held on June 23, 2014 at DSWD Conference Room.

Said program aims to intensify its coverage and social security protection for all contractual and Job-order workers of the department through easy and more convenient accumulation of savings for the SSS Monthly contribution Payments. DSWD has signified its intention to participate and assist the SSS in theimplementation of the program to give full support to the coverage of personnel as self-employed member under the Social Security Law.

The MOA signing was led by DSWD’s Regional Director, Zenaida L. Arevalo together with Ms.Elizabeth Cabatingan, Branch Head of SSS Zamboanga Branch, Mr.Riduan Hadjimuddin, DSWD’s Assistant Regional Director for Administration, Mrs. Herminia Bazan, DSWD’s Personnel Officer and SSS staff who served as witnesses. A ceremonial turn-over of AlkanSSSya key followed after the MOA signing.

As stipulated in the MOA, the monthly contribution of each personnel is Three Hundred Thirty Pesos (Php 330 pesos), provided that the regular and associate members of DSWD may increase their contribution to a higher bracket.

An Open Forum came after the Special Message of Ms. Elizabeth Cabatingan, Branch Head of SSS Zamboanga Branch to facilitate questions from DSWD workforce present during the event.

The AlkanSSSya Program shall benefit personnel to have protection against hazards of disability, sickness, maternity, old age, death and other contingencies that the SSS offers. ##
