The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the KALAHI-CIDSS program officially turned over the completed slope protection sub-project (151.84 cu.m) to the community of Barangay Lacupayan on August 5, 2025.

With a total project cost of PHP 857,945.01, the sub-project was made possible through the joint efforts of local officials, the Barangay Development Council–Technical Working Group (BDC-TWG), KALAHI-CIDSS staff, and the dedicated community volunteers.

The ceremony was graced by Municipal Vice Mayor Rowell Lalican, SB Arman Bucog, Barangay Captain Jaime S. Bucog, BDC-TWG Chairperson Lydia B. Cabalog, and the Barangay Representation for Operation and Maintenance (BROM) headed by Janely B. Israel.

“Isip usa ka volunteer, kami nag tinabangay gyud. Ang barangay officials, community volunteers ug ang mga KALAHI Staffs nga nag-assist sa amoa sugod sa una hangtod nga mahuman amoang proyekto. Kami gyud mangunay nga ampingan ang maong project nga amoang naangkon karon,” shared Chairperson Lydia B. Cabalog.

This sub-project is part of KALAHI-CIDSS’s continuing mission to empower communities and promote collective ownership of development initiatives through community-driven processes.
