In a ceremony held at the central office in Quezon City, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) officially launched the First 1,000 Days (F1KD) Cash Grants under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) today, February 21.

The launching was led by no less than the Undersecretary of 4Ps Vilma V. Cabrera and other notable heads of offices of the DSWD together with the Department of Health (DOH) Officer in Charge Undersecretary of Health and the Chief of Staff of the Secretary of Health Gloria Balboa.

The F1KD cash grant is an additional financial assistance to 4Ps beneficiaries who are pregnant and mothers with 0-24 months old babies to support the development needs of children. It is DSWD’s effort to combat the alarming cases of stunted children brought about by poverty which is aligned with Republic Act No. 11148, or the “Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-Nanay Act.”

In the launching today, the Department also distributed F1KD health kits other than the ceremonial payout of grants. Payouts and release of F1KD cash grants also happened today in other parts of the country.

In Zamboanga Peninsula, 5,259 beneficiaries received the cash grants through their Pantawid ATM cards amounting to Php 7,586,600 for 3 months covering Period 6 (December 2024) and Period 1 (January-February 2025).

Nationwide, more than 68,000 pilot F1KD grantees from eligible 4Ps households will receive a monthly Php350 grant.

To receive the monthly F1KD grants, beneficiaries must comply with the conditions of the program including accessing pre-natal services at DOH-accredited health facilities, tracking pregnancy and receiving ante-natal care services, child birthing or delivery at a DOH-accredited health facility, attending post-natal visits, participating in counselling sessions, and obtaining micronutrient supplements and immunizations.

The Department continues to encourage 4Ps households with pregnant women and children aged 0-24 months to update their profile either through their City/Municipal Links or through the newly launched dynamic social registry, the iRegistro at iregistro-4ps.dswd.gov.ph
