The Department convened its partner-stakeholders to discuss matters pertaining to the implementation of the OPLAN Pag-Abot Program.
The meeting is led by Undersecretary for Innovations, Usec. Edu Punay and DSWD-9 Regional Director Riduan Hadjimuddin.
During the meeting, the Task Force Sama Bajau was able to relay their recommendations to the good Undersecretary in keeping Sama Bajau families and children in street situations safe.
Present in the meeting are some Tribal Leaders and Sama Badjao Coordinators and IPMRs, and representatives from the Local Government Unit of Zamboanga City particularly from the City Civil Registrar’s Office, City Health Office, Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources, City Social Welfare and Development Office, Office of the City Agriculture, Department; partners from the National Government Agencies namely the Department of Health, Department of Education, Department of Labor and Employment, TESDA, DSWD’s BangUN program and other staff.
As of to date, DSWD-9 accomplished 124% of its target or 62 Sama Bajau families served and 118 children (38% accomplishment).
Social interventions and services offered by the partner-stakeholders were also in highlight to keep street families and children safe.###
