ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA—In celebration of the 5th anniversary of the Republic Act 11310 or the 4Ps Act, children of 4Ps beneficiaries in Zamboanga City volunteered to create a mural art that exhibits their experience and gains as beneficiaries of the conditional cash transfer program.
Florence Kate M. Madali, Noor Yesha S. Abdulajid, Yeshreen A. Amdani, Shermina J. Mandangan, Shanen J. Isdihaji, Tahil J. Alpa, and Vhan S. Aslari, all monitored children of the 4Ps program, joined in the celebration of the 5-year implementation of the 4Ps law.
Regional Director of the DSWD, Riduan P. Hadjimuddin, upon seeing the art, expressed appreciation for the children for their deep understanding of the program goals and interventions.
“This is a great manifestation of the experience of 4Ps beneficiaries and we feel ecstatic to share this with the public,” said Hadjimuddin.
The mural painting is the first activity of the week-long celebration conducted by 4Ps regional office from June 10-14, 2024. This was followed by the 4Ps Gives Back Community Activity which was held last Tuesday, Kalayaan Job Fair Employment facilitation held on Wednesday, FDS Hub competition on Thursday, and the culmination of the 4Ps Anniversary which was conducted earlier today (June 14). Part of the culmination activity was the unveiling of the mural art wall by the 4Ps children.
13-year-old Florence Kate M. Madali, a Grade 7 student of Talon-Talon National High School in Zamboanga City, said that this experience has allowed her to explore more and hone her skills outside the school which she thinks is important in a child’s holistic development.
“It was worth it. Gusto ko rin po ma-experience yung mga outdoor, extra-curricular (activities) [I also want to experience outdoor, extra-curricular (activities)]”, Kate said.
