ZAMBOANGA CITY—The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) – Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT) paid a total of Php154,440.00 to forty (40) beneficiaries in Zamboanga City who were employed under the Cash-For-Work project.
The project includes the construction of an income-generating fishpond and minor rehabilitation of school amenities in Taluksangay Elementary School particularly the relocation of flagpole, rehabilitation of school signage, repair of 6 classroom tables, and redevelopment of school kiosks.
DSWD-9 Regional Director Riduan P. Hadjimuddin emphasized that this aid is in support to the goal of the 4Ps program to guide its beneficiaries towards attaining self-sufficiency and be able to sustain the gains brought about by the government’s social welfare assistance.
“We believe that this Cash-for-Work does not only provide them with employment opportunity but more importantly, this helps build a sense of accountability, responsibility, and bayanihan as productive citizens of the country,” Regional Director Hadjimuddin added.
The payout was conducted last March 01 at barangay Taluksangay, Zamboanga City.
4Ps continues to implement projects to bridge the gaps in the level of well-being of its beneficiaries particularly in the economic aspect of development.
4P-MCCT Component
The Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT) Program is a sub-component of 4Ps which uses a modified approach in implementing the Conditional-Cash Transfer (CCT) program for poor families including Homeless, Indigenous Peoples, and Families in Need of Special Protection (FNSP). Salient features of the MCCT include modification in terms of targeting, conditionalities, program interventions and mode of implementation.
It is a modified approach to reach the poor families who are not registered in the regular conditional cash transfer (CCT) program due to their current situation such as lack of physical structure for the homeless, the indigenous people mobility/itinerant which exclude them during the conduct of enumeration resulting to the non-inclusion in the regular CCT.
