ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA— Following the marching order of its newly-installed Secretary, Hon. Erwin Tulfo, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will conduct a validation household assessment to the 1.2 million households that belong to the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). These households were found to be ‘non-poor’ by the Listahanan as of the recent household enumeration and therefore do not qualify anymore to the poverty alleviation program of the DSWD.

In Zamboanga City, 10,480 4Ps families will undergo the validation activity while a total of 39,993 households in the entire Zamboanga Peninsula will be validated.

This validation activity will determine whether these families will stay as beneficiaries, or they will be exiting the 4Ps program.

“We will be matching the Listahanan database result to the validation that will be conducted by the 4Ps. Should the result match and the family-beneficiaries will be proven to be non-poor, then we can already recommend them to exit the 4Ps program,” DSWD-9 Regional Director Atty. Sittie Raifah M. Pamaloy-Hassan said.

All City and Municipal Links of the DSWD will be full force on this activity to accomplish the validation of all targeted households within the period. The house-to-house validation in Region 9 is targeted to run until September 02, 2022.

Those Listahanan-identified non-poor families who will be found to be still at level 2 or subsistence level after the validation may file for an appeal for reconsideration so as not to be delisted from the program.

The beneficiaries are encouraged and expected to fully-cooperate with the DSWD field workers in this endeavour to manage a clean, reliable, and accurate database of beneficiaries.

“We appeal to our beneficiaries to cooperate in the name of credibility and integrity of the program. Rest assured that our field workers will do their task accurately to generate a reliable result,” says 4Ps Regional Program Coordinator, Flordeliza A. Atuy.
