The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) targets to register a total of 7,192 new household-beneficiaries in Zamboanga Peninsula region in the database of the country’s conditional cash transfer program, the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
The registration of new 4Ps beneficiaries is in accordance with National Advisory Committee Resolution 43, which institutionalizes a replacement policy that allows for the continuous replacement of beneficiaries with eligible ones that are not yet covered by the program.
Listahanan, a project that identifies who and where the poor are, provided over 22,000 names to the Regional Program Management Office (RPMO) of 4Ps based on the result of the household assessment conducted in 2015, however, after a systematic review, only 7,192 households are found to be eligible for further validation.
Prior to the validation, Atty. Sittie Raifah M. Pamaloy-Hassan, Regional Director of DSWD-IX, ordered the full review of the identified potential beneficiaries for discrepancies, duplicity, and possible double-entry in 4Ps’ database.
“We crossmatched the names on the list of potential beneficiaries before conducting the validation. This is our way to ensure that there will be no duplicate households and our database of 4Ps beneficiaries remain accurate,” says Atty. Pamaloy-Hassan.
The RPMO started the validation of potential new beneficiaries since November last year and is still ongoing.
Meanwhile, the RPMO encourages the identified potential beneficiaries to coordinate with the 4Ps field staff for the validation of their profiles for registration.
A total of 425,063 households nationwide were identified to be potentially eligible for registration to the program under Set 11-A.
Currently, DSWD-4Ps has 275,705 active household-beneficiaries across Zamboanga Peninsula. The DSWD targets to serve 4.4 million households nationwide.
