Some 150 Parent Leaders were actively gathered in the 1^st DSWD Roadshow held in major cities of Zamboanga Peninsula on March 18, 21 and 22, 2016.

The said event which was conducted in three separate dates, seeks to provide the partner-beneficiaries an avenue to express and voice-out the positive changes of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and other programs implemented by DSWD through facilitated workshops and some testimonial sharing. The guide questions were holistic in approach as it tried to contextualize the impacts in three areas: self, family and community.

DSWD Undersecretary for Promotive Programs Mr. Camilo Gudmalin, provided the participants with inputs on the humble beginning and triumphs of Pantawid Pamilya through the years as a social protection program that aims to break the intergenerational cycle of Poverty through investments in Health and Education.

Undersecretary Gudmalin underscored the change that is continually prevailing among beneficiaries which is evident on the 1.5 million households that were raised from poverty and had an improved well-being based on the 2^nd round Household Assessment result. He also shared the 333,673 Pantawid Children who graduated from High School last year is a manifestation of the program’s effective goal and milestone that is worthy to be told. The said talk also presented directions of the program on its nationwide coverage and priorities this 2016 to include the continuous advocacy on the Institutionalization of the Conditional Cash Transfer.

Meanwhile, all Municipal Action Teams were oriented on the afternoon’s session where Listahanan 2^nd Round Household initial database, Pantawid Attrition and Social Welfare and Development Indicators results were tackled.

The said roadshow enables the beneficiaries to be well-informed on its positive gains through peer-to-peer experience sharing where each stories mirrored every representation of the program beneficiaries’ evident change.

The successful events were conducted in Grand Astoria Hotel, Zamboanga City; Top Plaza Hotel, Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte and Springland Resort, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur.

The roadshow was patterned in the Parent-Leader’s Dialogue format that happened last year in Zamboanga City. ##
