Gituayan Family of Zamboanga Del Sur, 2014 Regional Winner of the Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya , answer questions from the board of judges.

In line with the National Family Week celebration this September, The Department of Social Welfare and Development recently opened the Search for Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya in Region IX.

The said search aims to recognize family – beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program who maintain strong family ties, demonstrate positive Filipino values, and have a positive impact in the community where they reside.

The competition is open to all family-beneficiaries who have been part of the program for at least two years with 100% compliance in all conditionalities. They should also obtain nominations and endorsements from Parent Leaders, Barangay Captains or the Local Government Units (LGU) in their respective municipalities.

The families prior to the competition will be judged through packaged document validation where demonstration of Filipino values at home, salient activities and accomplishment in their communities are being screened and assessed.

DSWD Field Office IX shall begin the conduct Provincial searches in the Region to identify Provincial winners who will qualify for the Regional Search scheduled on the 4th week of July. The winning family in the Regional level will serve as the official nominee of the Field Office for the national competition.

The following are the schedule of provincial searches in the Region: July 10 (Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay); July 14 (Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur); July 16 (Zamboanga City) and July 17 (Dipolog City, Zamboanga Del Norte). Meanwhile, the Regional Search will be held on July 29, 2015 in Zamboanga City which will highlight activities such as Media guesting, NGA tour and selection of the regional winner.

The winning family shall become ambassadors and will be part in all advocacy efforts of the Department including the Kaya ko ang Pagbabago campaign.

The Search for Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya was launched in 2012 by the National Program Management Office (NPMO) of DSWD and the National Committee on the Filipino Families.##
