Zamboanga City August 29, 2014 – 104 community development workers have just undergone the Pre-deployment orientation of Kalahi CIDSS NCDDP of DSWD in Zamboanga City which started last August 27. The pre-deployment orientation is geared at providing the newly hired staff with the necessary information regarding community works in the municipalities they will be positioned so they will know what they are expected to do.
“The KC-NCDDP family is growing and most of our field workers now are new and so they really have to undergo this activity for them not to freak out the moment they face the dynamics in their workplace and the deliverables required from them.” Deputy Regional Program Manager Elpidio Lapad said.
The newly hired field workers who will be deployed in the different target municipalities of the new scaled-up CDD program of the government are composed of Area Coordinators, Community Technical Facilitators (Engineers), Community Financial Facilitators and Community Empowerment Facilitators. They will work in the municipal level in implementing the Community Driven Development Projects through coordinating with the MLGU and BLGU and as well as provide technical assistance to the community volunteers to effectively address their concerns and most felt need.
“You are the most significant players in the program because you will be the ones who will be working directly with our clients, with our people.” Regional Program Manager and Assistant Regional Director for Operations Consejo Usman said during her welcome message.
The 2-day orientation tackled the processes, features and basic principles of the program. Aside from this, pre-entry activities and the technicalities of the program implementation were also briefly discussed.
“This is only the first leg of the orientation as we will still have two more batches to meet and orient in Pagadian City and Dipolog City in the succeeding days.” Regional Program Coordinator Marilyn Fabian said.
A total of 46 Area Coordinators, 46 Engineers, 46 MFAs and 248 CEF were hired and are scheduled to be deployed in first week of October after they will be provided with extensive training and orientation on the program and its process and as well as the operational and administrative arrangements.
