To kick-start the digital transformation campaign of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) started distributing the procured tablets to field workers across Zamboanga Peninsula.

1,024 tablets are targeted to be distributed to case managers handling family-beneficiaries in the said region.

The tablets will be used to get accurate information from the beneficiaries in a more efficient manner through the execution of the Social Welfare and Development Indicator (SWDI) assessment, an annual activity conducted by the case managers to gauge the level of well-being of each family-beneficiary.

4Ps Regional Program Coordinator, Flordeliza A. Atuy, in her visit during the tablet distribution activity, emphasized the importance of accurate facilitation of the assessment as crucial to the program and the lives of its clientele.

“Gamitin ninyo ito para sa purpose kung saan at papaano ito intended gamitin. Pag-ingatan din ninyo dahil tinupad ng gobyerno ang suporta na dapat na ibigay sa mga workers upang magawa natin ang trabaho natin ng mas maayos at mabilis. At ang pinakaimportante ay i-apply ninyo ang mga natutunan sa orientation ngayon tungkol sa SWDI app dahil buhay ng mga tao ang ating minomonitor,” Atuy said.

[Used these (tablets) for its purpose. Take care of this equipment because the government stayed true to its promise to support the workers and help you perform your tasks more efficiently. And the most important thing is to apply the learning you acquire from this orientation on the SWDI app because people’s lives are what we monitor.]

Along with the distribution of tablets, the National Program Management Office of the 4Ps also held an orientation on the newly-installed SWDI mobile application to field workers all over the country for a uniform understanding of the app and execution of it.

All of these efforts are in support to the goal of the Program to improve its service delivery and advance digital use for a more efficient implementation of its mandates for poor Filipino families.
