The Muncipal Local government of Godod, Zamboanga del Norte and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center (AVRC) recently held a partnership meeting to ensure that 17 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) continue to receive proper care and support after completing their rehabilitation.
The purpose of the activity is to work closely with the municipal local government of Godod,so that the 17 PWDs endorsed to AVRC by DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS can smoothly transition back into their communities. This coordination focuses on aftercare and sustainability planning, making sure that the progress gained during rehabilitation will continue even after the clients leave the center.
Through the partnership, the municipal government of Godod, commits to providing access to important community-based services. These include health care, livelihood assistance, agricultural support, and social welfare programs. With these services in place, PWDs are given better opportunities to live independently, earn a living, and actively participate in community life.
A strong and clear partnership between the local government and AVRC helps define how aftercare will be carried out. During the meeting, roles and responsibilities were discussed and agreed upon. Support services were identified, and regular follow-up actions were planned to monitor the progress of each client. These steps ensure that no PWD is left behind and that their needs are addressed in a timely manner.
The partnership meeting was attended by key local officials and program representatives, showing strong commitment from both the local government and the rehabilitation center. Attendees included Fe Barite, Municipal Planning and Development Officer (MPDO) of Godod; Beth Eden T. Pagasian from the Mayor’s Office; Zenaida E. Adlawan, Municipal Agriculturist; Scarlet Gai S.
